Three times a year, our electronic chart libraries are updated with the latest navigational changes officially issued by the hydrographic offices all around the world. To coincide with popular boating seasons, the new chart libraries are produced with changes numbering in the thousands, affecting all C-Map electronic charts.

What exactly is an update? An update is any change in your boating area that can negatively affect your navigation if not taken into account. It can be as common as moving a buoy or a light change, as unpredictable as a contour or shoreline change; or as complicated and dangerous as changes to channels, commercial shipping lanes or restricted areas. These updates occur as individual changes to charts, as replacements of entire existing charts, or as additions of totally new charts. Updates also include new planning and value-added data such as marina facilities and port services.
